Episode Album Art

Radio address for August 4, 2012, about an outdoor concert at the Lake Harriet bandshell, and the planes flying overhead.

This episode was field-recorded and produced on my phone, which had its own challenges but seemed to work pretty well. Now that I’ve ironed out a few wrinkles in the process, I’m hoping to make more use of it now and again, especially since we’ll be on the road for most of August.

The music is the Symphony No. 9 from the New World by Dvořák, and was recorded live during a performance by the Minnesota Sinfonia on July 20, 2012.

Episode Album Art

Radio address for July 7, 2012, about a reunion in the Northwoods with some men I haven’t seen in a long time. It’s always been hard to say what I think about ALERT now, ten years after graduation; but now if anyone asks, I feel I could point them at the thoughts in this recording, and maybe they could understand if they really listened.

Music is The Park by Secret Cities, Two Matchsticks by The Wooden Birds, and Demons by Dry the River.

Episode Album Art

Radio address for June 23rd, 2012, inspired by our recent visit to family in Niagara Falls.

Mention is made of Distributism (and the brand-new subreddit I created for it). Also, if you’d like to read or listen to the last episode I did about Niagara Falls, see The King and the Jester, which I recorded a couple of months before our wedding.

Music is Time Will End by Lissa Schneckenburger, Wow by Thomas Newman, and George Smiley by Alberto Inglesias.
