# Not A Radio Address Greetings, listeners. It has warmed up here, and it's now 25° F. There is no radio address this week, or the first weekend in 2014, due to the holidays. In lieu of a creative monologue, I'm here to deliver a short meta-report -- something I do not more than once per year -- and an announcement, or perhaps a quasi-announcement...really just more like a simple, and cryptic, heads-up. First of all, I've given the podcast its annual tune-up, which mostly involved moving it to a new server -- a VPS at Digital Ocean code-named "onceler", which is the best server name ever -- and updating some back-end software. The biggest public-facing change is with the podcast feed which you use to subscribe if you use iTunes or a podcast app to download episodes: it used to display only the ten most recent episodes; now it displays *all* episodes, going back to the beginning of the podcast in January 2008. This is also true of the episode listing on the iTunes store -- the entire history, 90 episodes of dour yet poetic ruminations at the time of this recording, is laid bare for your perusal. There are other minor changes which I'll detail in a separate blog post at , but I won't mention them here. Those will mainly be of interest to people who are themselves interested in podcasting and web publishing. I will say that, creatively speaking, Howell Creek Radio will be going in a bit of a new direction in 2014. I've already left several clues, and I'll leave it to you to figure it out as it happens. If you have headphones on, you can clearly hear the atmospheric background music "Leviathan" by Z. D. Smith. It's currently my favourite audio for thinking, tinkering, and producing: an ethereal yet crunchy digital mystery; the lightless, calming cacophony of the ocean floor and the relentless machinations of an artificial intelligence. You should really get your own copy at -- it's name-your-own-price, and the rest of the tracks are free. I'm not getting anything for this, in fact he doesn't even know I'm doing this, and I just hope he doesn't mind. We'll be hitting our 100th episode sometime in the middle of March, and you'll be able to participate -- I'll specify the details as we get closer. There will be no listener surveys this year, but of course we maintain a year-round open-door policy here, so leave your comments on the website, or email any and all thoughts to joel@howellcreekradio.com. Whether you've been kept us dialed in for five years or are just now finding out about us: speaking for both Trixie and myself, Thank You for listening to Howell Creek Radio. ## Synopsis There is no radio address this week, or the first weekend in 2014, due to the holidays.
